How to read the data status

What “synced”, “provisional data”, “may still change” and “incomplete history” mean in the “Data status” band and in reports.

On this page

The “Data status” band at the bottom of project pages tells you, for each platform, whether the import is working and up to which day the data goes. The same words appear on Overview, in the Agency Dashboard, in the daily summary and in the PDF.

The band separates three things that are often confused: sync, provisional days and incomplete history.

1. Sync

Status What it means
Synced The last successful sync was within the last 3 hours.
Sync delayed The last successful one was 3–24 hours ago.
Sync stopped No successful sync for more than a day.
Never synced The platform has not had a successful sync yet.
Sync paused A dataset has failed several times in a row and is waiting to resume.

The “import in progress” note appears separately: an import that is running does not mean the data is already up to date.

“Local processing” means Admetriva is recalculating something from data already imported, for example a report. No new data is imported during this time.

2. Provisional days

  • Today: provisional data. The day is not over, so the figures keep growing until midnight, in the project's time zone. This is not an error.
  • Yesterday: may still change. Google and Meta can attribute a conversion to the day of the click or impression, and sometimes report it late. Admetriva re-imports the most recent days on every sync, so yesterday corrects itself.
  • The days before are complete.

Example: “Google Ads — synced, data up to today, November 3 (provisional)”.

3. Incomplete history

A dataset can have days it never imported, for example before the import start date. These appear as “Incomplete history”, with the missing ranges. They are informational: they do not mean the current sync has a problem. You can fill them in from the “Data import” page with Repair data gaps.

What appears in the band title

The title only takes into account the base figures of the reports: campaign performance and creatives (and, for Meta, placements). Search terms, products and conversion actions have their own pace and appear separately, under Details, only when they are behind or have errors.

Details

The Details button shows, per platform: the day up to which the data is covered, the last successful sync, unresolved errors with the affected dataset and the pause status, the datasets that are behind, and the gaps in the history.

Keep in mind

A day that has not been imported appears as “—” or “Not synced”, never as 0. A total across several platforms is shown only when every platform has that day imported; otherwise it would look like a drop.
