Archiving and reactivating projects
What stops when you archive a project, what is kept, how long it stays billed and how to reactivate it.
On this page
Archiving stops all of a project's work without deleting anything. It is how a project you don't need right now stops counting towards your price from the next renewal.
Who archives, and where
Only the workspace owner, from the Subscription and usage page, in the Usage by project table, with the Archive action. Before anything happens, a confirmation tells you what stops, what happens to tracking, how long the project stays billed and how many projects will be billable from the renewal.
You can archive an active, paused or draft project. A suspended project, or one being deleted, cannot be archived from the app.
What stops
As soon as the project is archived:
- every sync, scheduled or manual, including those already queued;
- analyses, new signals and scheduled reports;
- AI generations, social drafts and publications; scheduled posts are cancelled, not postponed;
- tracking: orders sent by your shop and events from your website are answered “ignored” at once and are not processed, without slowing down checkout. Whatever arrives while the project is archived is not recovered when you reactivate it. You can also turn the module off in your shop.
What is kept
Nothing is deleted. Imported data, reports and settings stay, and project members can still read them: an archived project is read-only. The usual data retention rules, the same for every project, still apply. Data is deleted only on an explicit request.
Billing for an archived project
- The project stays billed until the end of the current period, with no refund and no credit for the remaining days.
- From the next renewal it no longer counts as a billable project.
- If your plan has a project limit, its slot stays taken until the renewal: until then you cannot create or reactivate another project in its place.
Reactivating
The workspace owner reactivates the project from the same table, with the Reactivate action, if the plan has room. Syncs, analyses and tracking resume, and the project counts again at once:
- if it was already billed in the current period (you archived it during this period), reactivating adds no cost until the renewal;
- if it was not billed in the current period, it is added to the bill in proportion to the days left until the renewal, once online payments are active.
A project archived by the Admetriva team is reactivated only on request: write to us.
An example
On a one-project plan, with project A active:
- you archive A and reactivate it in the same month: allowed, and it costs nothing more, because A was already billed;
- you archive A and want to reactivate B, archived last month, or to create a new project: refused until the renewal. You can reactivate A, move to a larger plan or wait for the renewal.
